What’s your marathon?
For some teachers every lesson can be a marathon, but unlike most runners they won’t be getting a medal or applause when they cross the finish line. Instead they will continue to be bullied, stressed, overworked, in debt or even worse. You can help support these teachers by taking part in one of our running event in 2011.
We have guaranteed places in three major running events next year and we’d love to get you involved. As well as actually running for us there are lots of other ways to support us. You can help us to promote the events, tell us your views on our promotional campaign, help a colleague to run a fundraising event and of course make a donation to our runners.
Tell us what your marathon is on Twitter @teachersupport.

Virgin London Marathon – 17th April 2011
Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon - 6th March 2011
Edinburgh Marathon - 22nd May 2011
However, if a whole marathon seems a step too far, why not join with three of your friends and run the Hairy Haggis Relay? The race runs the same course as the marathon on the same day – but in relay! Each runner runs roughly 5.8 miles.
Once you have registered for the marathon we will provide you with lots of help and advice on how to make the most our of the experience.
Along with training plans and nutrition guides, we will send you a press release template to send out to your local papers, posters to help you promote any fundraising events you may want to run, a facebook group where you will be able to chat to us and all the other runners taking part and of course a running vest for the day.
On the day of your run a team of us will be there to give you plenty of support and motivation, especially on those last tough miles! For more information about running places please contact Lucy Rowe on 020 6797 2764
