If you are a UK taxpayer, then Gift Aid is a simple and easy way to increase the value of your donation to Teacher Support Network.

What is Gift Aid?
The Gift Aid Scheme allows charities to reclaim tax on all donations.  This means that for every £1 you give, or have given, Teacher Support Network can receive an extra 25p.  In practice, a £10 donation could actually be worth £12.50 – and it doesn’t cost you a penny extra!

Do I have to give regularly?
No.  Teacher Support Network can claim the tax back on any donation - whatever the amount.  It doesn’t matter whether you make a one off donation or set up a regular direct debit.

Do I have to make a declaration for every donation?
No.  One single declaration will cover all the donations you have made to Teacher Support Network in the past four years, and all donations you make in the future.  You can write to us at any time to let us know if your circumstances change.

Who can use Gift Aid?
If you are a UK taxpayer and the amount of income tax/ capital gains tax you pay exceeds the amount to be reclaimed, you can make a gift aid declaration.

Even if you are not employed, you are still eligible if you are paying tax on any of the following:

• Personal or occupational pension
• Stocks and shares
• Bank and building society savings accounts
• Retail income
• Overseas and UK investment dividends

If you are not a UK tax payer, you should not Gift Aid your donations.

What if I am a higher rate tax payer?
If you pay a higher rate of tax you can reclaim extra tax relief on your gross donations at 20%.  Speak to your financial advisor about how to include this on your Self Assessment return.

How can I make a Gift Aid Declaration?
It’s simple.  To Gift Aid your donation you need to complete and return a Gift Aid declaration form, which can be from the 'Attached file' link at the bottom of this page.
