Plan now for Adult Learners' Week 2009The Week encourages adults to give learning a goBy Sally Baker : 9 October 2008
2009 marks the eighteenth Adult Learners’ Week, which is the UK’s largest and longest running festival of learning. Coordinated each May by NIACE, it promotes the benefits of adult learning to all adults – young, old and in all their diversity. The week runs from 9th to 15th May 2009. To find out more about Adult Learners’ Week and how you can get involved, NIACE are holding free Regional Roadshow events which are taking place this autumn throughout England. These sessions are an opportunity to meet the Adult Learners’ Week team and see how Adult Learners’ Week can work for you, in your region and within your organisation. Adult Learners’ Week encourages hundreds of thousands of people to engage in learning each year, in workplaces, in libraries, colleges, museums, supermarkets, job centres, community centres and more. Find out how you can run an event or taster session in Adult Learners’ Week and how we can help. Visit www.alw.org.uk for more information. |
