Teacher Support Network on One ShowBy Joe Williams : 12 March 2009
Teacher Support Network's Head of Communications and Business Development was interviewed on the BBC's One Show recently. The show was aired last night. You can see Hannah featured in their item about the recruitment of teachers from other sectors here. The story starts after 18 minutes, 17 seconds. As discussed in the story, applications to become teachers have radically increased since the start of 2009. The Training and Development Agency) have reported a 421 per cent increase in January compared to the same time last year. If you're a new teacher or are just beginning your training, why not look at our online Starting Out Guide? The written version of the guide has been one of our most popular resources and we have distributed hundreds of thousands of copies over the last few years. The guide offers expert, comprehensive advice, tailored specifically to help address the unique challenges of trainees and NQTs. By moving the guide online, we have enabled visitors to add their own comments to every section of the site, to share their experiences and discuss new ideas. We hope through this both NQTs and trainees will find a sense of community amongst their equivalents in other schools. You can find the guide at http://www.newteachers.info/
