Great Teachers Tea Break launchedTake time with colleagues and raise support for all teachersBy Joe Williams : 27 October 2009
Teacher Support Network, the charity for teachers, has launched the Great Teachers Tea Break, which will see thousands of teachers across Great Britain coming together to celebrate the profession throughout November. Teachers play a vital role in all our lives, as we count on them to educate and inspire our young people. But teaching can be tough - and teachers often don't get the recognition they need and deserve. The Great Teachers Tea Break is a celebration of the teaching profession and the important job that they do - and is a great opportunity for teachers themselves to take time out from their busy working day to celebrate their achievements. The charity is asking teachers to take a well-earned break, to have a cup of tea and a chat with their colleagues, all in aid of Teacher Support Network. Teacher Support Network Chief Executive Julian Stanley said: "Teaching is a really challenging job - and it's often difficult to find time in a busy school day to take a breather or catch up with colleagues. The Great Teachers Tea Break invites teachers across the country to take time out of their busy days, have a cuppa, a cake and a chat with their friends and colleagues, all in aid of Teacher Support Network. "Every penny raised will be used to provide vital support to teachers in need. "Teachers make an invaluable contribution to society but often go unrecognised. The Great Teachers Tea Break gives participants the opportunity to come together to recognise and celebrate their own achievements - an oasis in an otherwise hectic school day!" Staff can take part on any day throughout November and it's easy for them to get involved: just visit the website at www.teachersupport.info to register and then invite their colleagues. Once registered, there is plenty of support and promotional material available to download, to help ensure that all events are a real success. |
