Free 2GB memory stick for teachersPartnership brings services to teachers on the goBy Joe Williams : 15 December 2008
Memory 4 Teachers is a national campaign funding the distribution of 750,000 memory sticks to teachers across the country. All teachers and support staff are able to register to receive a free USB memory stick. The memory sticks are password secure and are preloaded with a fully interactive control panel, various educational resources and software applications. The applications provide teachers with functions such as a diary, timetable and lesson plans as well as offering support for all national curriculum subject areas. The memory sticks also provide teachers with direct access to recommended educational websites. Teacher Support Network Patrick Nash said: “We've very pleased to be working in partnership with ‘Memory 4 Teachers'. A large part of our work is sharing ideas, news and knowledge in order to improve the wellbeing and effectiveness of training, serving and retired teachers. We're pleased that information on our telephone and online services will be delivered directly into the hands of so many teachers. “Teaching is a uniquely challenging profession and supporting and improving teacher health and wellbeing is vital to the educational experience of young people. The preventative support we offer can stop a concern becoming a crisis and our reactive support to teachers at times of distress can save lives. Our work helps good teachers stay in the profession they love. “We hope that by being involved in ‘Memory 4 Teachers', we will contribute to a project that will help serve the practical, organisational and information needs of the profession.” To register for your free USB stick visit www.memory4teachers.co.uk/register.asp |
