The survey is the first of its kind and designed to assess the views of teachers and all those who work in adult, further and higher education. The aim is to ensure their opinions affect the implementation and development of the new 14-19 qualification.

The first five diplomas were launched in September this year and more schools, colleges and universities are set to get involved in their delivery each year as more courses become available.

Teacher Support Network and CUSN Chief Executive Patrick Nash said: “It is vital that the opinions of teachers and educational professionals in colleges and universities are taken into account when assessing the introduction and progress of Diplomas.

“The new qualification represents a massive change to the educational system and we know that such changes can be very challenging, particularly if not handled appropriately.

“Teachers and educational professionals are responsible for delivering this radical reform and, if the programme is to be successful, they must be allowed to have an influence. This survey will help ensure the voices of teachers and all those working in adult, further and higher education are heard.”
