SURVEY: DO YOU THINK DISCIPLINE IS GETTING WORSE?
Can anything more be done? Should it?

By Kevin Armstrong : 8 September 2010

sparing the rod logoThe survey is over: you can see the results here.

Do you think discipline is getting worse in schools? Are lessons more about crowd control than teaching? Do you believe more should be done to improve the way children and young people behave?

Maybe you think behaviour is not an issue. Perhaps you think that discipline has improved and the focus should be elsewhere?

We've completed our survey, and will publish the results soon. But there are other ways you can still share your views.

Share your comments in our forum.

Whatever you think about discipline in schools, Teacher Support Network and Parentline Plus, with promotional assistance from the National Union of Teachers (NUT), want to hear from you. Previous research shows that pupil behaviour is one of the top three causes of stress for teachers, but we want to know how the issue of discipline affects you, before the UK Parliament debates a new Education White Paper in the months to come.

By taking a few minutes to complete this survey, you can help to influence the debate and make a huge difference to the working lives of teachers.
