Exam seasonFor many teachers waiting for exam results it can be just as nerve wracking as for their pupils.by Lucy Rowe : 12 August 2009
Exam results are upon us once again and in schools across the country, we know that the pressure isn't only on pupils to get the right results. For many teachers waiting for results can be just as nerve wracking as they wait to see if all their hard work has paid off. Even when results are good, we are told repeatedly that exams are getting easier. This can be demoralising for teachers who have worked to help their pupils do their best. The pressure felt in schools can be huge and last year, we received calls from teachers unable to return to work as a result of the pressure during exam season, and some experienced teachers who were considering leaving the profession as a result of the problems that exams can induce. If you are concerned about exam results and would like some help and advice you can call our free, confidential Support Line on 08000 562 561.
