Our StaffMeet the employees that keep our group of charities running Rob DunnPersonal Assistant to the Chief Executive Rob manages the chief executive's calendar and email, ensuring his travel and accommodation is booked, he is prepared for meetings and responds to Julian's emails where necessary. He is also responsible for answering queries from the main telephone line or forwarding calls where necessary; undertaking research/administrative tasks for colleagues; and office management task. Rob has previously worked as a primary school teacher for 4 years, and being married to a teacher, is well aware of the support that teachers require. Jason HarrisonPress and communications manager Jason's role is to raise the profile of Teacher Support Network group of charities in all media. This includes writing and editing the weekly e-newsletters, writing press releases, managing media contacts and creating opportunities for the Chief Executive to appear on radio and television as well as writing for our social networking sites, fundraising materials and assisting the Chief Executive writing his fortnightly column in SecEd. Jason works closely with the Senior Management Team and external stakeholders to develop the media and communications strategy. He is also responsible for the media volunteers, who are case studies willing to be interviewed by the press. Jason line manages the Marketing and Events Officer, and the Volunteer Press Assistants in Scotland. Kevin ArmstrongPolicy and external relations manager Kevin works to ensure that national, local and school level policies all help to improve teacher health, wellbeing and effectiveness. To do this he regularly collaborates with teachers, researchers, policy makers and other opinion formers across the UK, as well as several other staff internally to develop the charity's services and run effective campaigns.
Rebecca works with our partners in universities and elsewhere to explore the causes and consequences of poor teacher wellbeing and to pilot and evaluate a range of interventions that seek to enhance teacher wellbeing, sharing our findings with unions, Governments and other key stakeholders. Teacher Support Research is an independent charity (registration pending). Rebecca is currently on maternity leave. Allen O'Leary Web and Digital Media Manager Allen manages the websites and social network profiles (including Facebook and Twitter) for our group of charities as well as handling our search engine optimisation and other ways in which we attempt to reach teachers via the web. He is also in charge of incorporating our support services, online donation tools, public policy work and press work with our websites and finding ways for our site visitors to engage with the work we do. An increasingly important part of this role is analysing usage of our online presence to build into future promotional strategy. Lucy RoweMarketing and events officer Lucy co-ordinates our events programme including union conferences and Local Authority events and regularly delivers presentations and workshops to groups of teachers and union representatives about the work of the charity and how they can be involved in our work. Lucy also manages the production of marketing communication materials including leaflets, posters, reports and merchandise and ensures that communications conform to our brand guidelines. In 2010 this included the re-brand of CUSN to Recourse, which involved a complete redesign of all materials and messaging. Lucy also manages our order fulfilment and stock control needs through Connect Assist.
Vijay provides all round administrative support for the Fundraising Team, working with Jackie Ball, Sheree-Marie Abraham and Rafi Khan. He is responsible for recording all fundraising income to Teacher Support Network, ensuring all donations are acknowledged and responding to any queries donors may have. Teacher Support Cymru Sandra TaylorDevelopment manager, Teacher Support Cymru Sandra’s role is to raise awareness of the services offered by Teacher Support Cymru to the 38,500 teachers in Wales and to raise the funds needed to run the bilingual teacher support service in Wales. Sandra has recently gained funding for a Volunteer Coordinator whose role will be to to recruit, train, supervise and support a target of 30 Volunteers across Wales. Sandra has been working in the Third Sector, in Wales, for 17 years and has a wide ranging experience of managing charities with a focus on offering support to people of all ages and backgrounds, specialising in volunteering.
Volunteer Coordinator, Wales Andrea is in charge of recruiting and training volunteers for Teacher Support Cymru. Her part time position was made available through the 'Volunteering in Wales' fund. Andrea is in charge of the 'Friends of Teacher Support Cymru'. These 'friends' will then help to raise awareness of the many services open to teachers and their families across Wales. RECOURSE
Development manager, Recourse Alex's role is to raise awareness of the services offered by Recourse to the further education, higher education and adult learning sectors and to raise additional funds for the Recourse charity. Alex is the first person in this new role which starts in May 2011.
