Julian

Julian Stanley
Chief Executive

The CEO is the chief spokesperson for the charity group. He leads on the development of organisational strategies and policy in conjunction with the elected trustees and the National Council. Julian was appointed Group Chief Executive of Teacher Support Network charity group in 2009 after spending eight years as the Chief Executive and MD of a large community charity and its trading subsidiary in Peterborough. His career has encompassed work in the public, private and third sectors, including the civil service, local government, theatre and arts education, teaching, community development and economic regeneration and. Julian has served on a number of charity boards, most recently as Chair of the Cambridge and Peterborough Learning Trust. He is currently a trustee of the Association of Charitable Organisations.

 
 

During his time at TSN, Julian has spoken out on TV and in the media on a range of issues affecting teacher wellbeing – including allegations against teachers, school building investment changes, pupil behaviour, and parent-teacher relations. Julian also writes a fortnightly column in the SecED newspaper and is increasingly in demand as a speaker at a wide range of education events.


KatyKaty Smith
Company Secretary/Head of HR

 

Katy combines the roles of Company Secretary and Secretary to the Board of Trustees and National Council with that of Head of HR.

 

Katy organises Trustee and Annual Council elections and has overall responsibility for volunteer coordination, staff recruitment, staff policies and payroll issues.

 

She is also responsible for corporate services including managing our IT services contract, all building and estates issues, is the registered Data Controller for the group of charities and manages grants for service users through Connect Assist.

Director of Fundraising

Jackie joins Teacher Support Network after four very successful years at the British Polio Fellowship where she held the position of Director of Finance, Marketing and Fundraising, where she led the re-branding of the charity in time for its 70th Anniversary and implemented a successful fundraising recovery strategy which generated a very substantial increase in turnover through some highly effective and targeted fundraising campaigns by 2009.

Prior to this Jackie enjoyed working in a variety of roles in finance, marketing and in the retail sectors as well as being the Advertising Sales and Promotions Manager for seven UK airports. At the start of the consumer mobile phone revolution Jackie held the position of Trade Marketing Manager, leading on the advertising and promotions function for mobile telephony, mobile internet (WAP) and Pay as you Go propositions for BT Cellnet. This included working with major high street retailers, including John Lewis, DSG and Tescos.
