The commitment to teachers

We're asking politicians to sign on to the following statement prior to the general election

In order for teachers to deliver first class education they need the support of elected representatives who understand the scale of the challenges teachers face. Putting in place measures to support and improve teacher health, wellbeing and effectiveness should be at the heart of education policy. If elected, I will campaign for this principle to be central to future party and government policy because I believe great teaching is critical to the delivery of a great education.

We asked MP candidates to endorse this pledge during the 2010 general election, but MPs can sign on at any time.

If you are an MP and you agree with the above statement, please contact our public policy team giving your full name, party and the name of the seat you are contesting.

We'll add you to the list on this page of those who have told us that they agree with the above statement. If you would like to encourage other MPs to sign on click here. The commitment was launched on Tuesday 20th April 2010.

NOTE:
As a charity, Teacher Support Network would like to emphasise that it is not promoting, endorsing or campaigning against any MPs or parties. This page is designed to promote awareness of teacher wellbeing issues and MPs' positions on them.
