Group service use more than doubles in a year

Group service use more than doubles in a year
There were 118% more interactions with service users during summer 2009 than in summer 2008.

Significant increase in calls to Group
There has been a large increase in calls compared to summer 2008: 15% more.

Hike in service use driven by far greater InfoCentre usage
There was a 136% increase in factsheet views in summer 2009 compared to summer 2008 (and a 33% increase on spring 2009)

Huge increase in grants awarded by Group
There was a significant increase in grants awarded during summer 2009 on summer 2008 – an increase of £46,784.81. CUSN awarded 178% more and the English charity 74% more.

More teachers in England contacting charity over ‘People skills’, ‘Personal’ issues and ‘Working conditions’
Enquiries over ‘People skills’ increased over 183% since spring 2008. Interactions in the ‘Personal’ category grew 182% and in ‘Working conditions’ by 127%.

Effects of recession continue for teachers
‘Money’ was a far more likely reason for teachers in England to contact us than in summer 2008 (an increase of 120%).

‘Careers’ enquiries rise significantly in Wales; ‘Working conditions’ decreases
There was a 300% increase in ‘Careers’ for Teacher Support Cymru on Spring 2009; a 75% decrease in ‘Working conditions’ on summer 2008.

Scottish InfoCentre drives huge increase in service use; ‘Careers’ and ‘Working conditions’ growing concerns
The Scottish InfoCentre sees a 184% increase in use on spring 2009; ‘Careers’ rises 308%, ‘Working Conditions’ 226%.

‘Personal’ and ‘People skills’ enquiries increase for CUSN users
‘Interactions in the ‘Personal’ category increase 32% for CUSN on summer 2009; ‘People skills’ enquiries increase 77%.
