Teacher Support Cymru is proud to have recently launched Great Teachers Remembered: a unique website which enables users to make a permanent tribute to teachers who have passed away.

Available at www.greatteachers.org.uk, family, friends, colleagues and pupils have an opportunity to post a permanent tribute to those people who have had a positive effect on the lives of their pupils and have passed away. Users can share memories and photos as well as finding information on bereavement and links to Teacher Support Cymru's support services.

The tributes on Great Teachers Remembered are dedicated to some very special teachers. But they were more than teachers – they were also much-loved family, good friends and supportive colleagues. Great teachers who did more than educate – but also inspired, entertained, motivated and supported those they knew.

Teacher Support Cymru Chief Executive, Patrick Nash, said:"We're very proud to launch this new website. As well as our telephone and online services, part of the mission of Teacher Support Cymru is to ensure that the profession is recognised as playing a crucial part in building a better society and that great teachers are honoured for the services to younger generations and their school communities.

“From interacting with tens of thousands of teachers every year, we know that the loss of a teacher can be a very distressing time for family, colleagues and pupils. We hope that Great Teachers Remembered will provide a space in which affected school communities can come together to pay tribute to lost ones and the wonderful impact teachers have on the lives of others.
